Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Ryan Shelby. I live in Royal Oak Michigan with my wife Melissa and 2 daughters Mya and Bria.
I started my software development career back in 1999 when I created my first software program that eventually automated my job related to Computer Aided Engineering [see more]. Shortly after this, I was promoted to Research & Development Engineer - Team Leader, where I was responsible for conducting mechanical testing and vehicle suspension simulation testing using MTS technologies (RPC).
Before leaving my duties as Team Leader to persue my passion for software development in 2004, I was responsible for inventing and receiving a patent for the 2 Story Coil Fatigue Machine.
Since late 2004 I have focused all my attention and energy on software development using Microsoft Technologies. On April 24th 2006, I developed a local community website called Royal Oak SoundOff using ASP.NET and AJAX. It eventually became one of the most popular websites in my community attracting over 5,000 unique visitors each month. Unfortunately I had to close the site down on April 2009 due to the amount of work involved with monitoring the site.
Originally I dabbled with Silverlight 1 and enjoyed using it to replace simple Flash work. However in late October 2008, I began learning and using Silverlight 2 99% of my time to develop data driven LOB related applications.
In the beginning, I plan to use this site mainly as a reference for topics or issues that I have trouble finding a quick and easy solution to using Google. In the future I plan to focus more on developing my own Silverlight controls and harnessing Silverlight 3 capabilities for developing LOB applications, animations, cartoons, media and interactive online games. I morning I wake up looking forward to the future!
Thanks again,
Ryan Shelby
